Beginner's Class - Intro to the wheel 

Interested in learning how to intentionally create basic forms on  the pottery wheel and get a little messy as well!  This 4 class course is a fundamental intro to the pottery wheel! Each class will focus on 1 specific form, (cylinders, bowls, spheres, sphere with a cylinder on top, and plates) and learning the basics of the studio and tools. This class is the beginning of your ceramic journey! The class includes clay (Armadillo Cinco Blanco mid-fire clay), tools, set glaze options, and 2-3 firings. Students are asked to bring a water bottle for personal hydration, and an old towel for cleaning up/protecting your car for the ride home. All other materials will be provided. This class is available to students 18 years and up.

- All clay and tools
- Instruction + one-two fired/glazed pieces
- Small class size for personal attention

Location: Backyard studio in the heart of Austin TX, with an abundance of plants (address shared after booking)
Good to know: Dress for mess! Bring water bottles, aprons provided.

Other Important Information:

  • On street parking is available.

  • Report any problems or concerns immediately to your instructor.

  • A bathroom is available for use.

  • Only students enrolled in classes may sign up for the open studio time.

  • Ask before you use a piece of equipment that you aren’t familiar with.

  • No smoking in or outside of the studio.

  • Because of space and liability issues, guests are required to sign a Liability Waiver upon entering the property for the first time.

Cancellation Policy:

  1. Cancellation up to 10 days prior to the start of class, students receive a full refund (minus a $50 administrative fee).

  2. Cancellation within 10-0 days of the start of class, students receive no refund.
